Loans being taken out by Hispanics and Latinos
The Hispanic and Latino communities are one and of the same. The only thing that is different is the way that banks are marketing to both communities.
The remaining factor for both though is that they are taking out loans. They do so because they have bad credit. See for years Hispanics would only do business with cash but now they are using credit cards and personal loans.
Look around, Hispanics are taking out loans like never before. They feel like loans are a deal because they can buy stuff right away and not have to pay for it upfront.
For Anglos the downfall is taking out enormous mortgage loans. That is not the same downfall for Hispanics. Hispanics fall into the trap of making monthly payments on stuff they want right away.
The time for Hispanics to buy it on the weekend. Buying things is a family event and so they will go and buy new cars and funiture and make monthly payments on their purchases.
In the United States, Hispanics will take out credit until they can no longer afford to add another monthly payment to their budget.
Just one generation back, Latinos were not attracted to the thought of having loans to pay back. Latinos used to pay cash everywhere they went. For one reason they had cash because they knew how to use their money wisely and also because they could not open a bank accout without a social security number.
Now what you see is loan companies coming up because they are marketing to Hispanics again with they monthly payments. Latinos are falling for their methods.
Educating Hispanics to get out of debt and stay away from loans is going to be a challenge. If we do not intervene Hispanics are going to owe their lives to all lenders of money.
